GUILTY
As the header says: Guilty.
I have been slack updating the blog.....excuse, I have been busy!
Believe it or not, the best half has allowed me to have some modelling space in the house, rather than be out in the studio while she is alone....so here is the worktable currently...Bless this mess!
The Cream has been painted in my eagerness, but I forgot to fit the bowends into the ends so that is what is being done at the moment. I also forgot to trim back 2 of the watertanks on the rooves to the correct size, so that is now also done and 2 of the 3x D118, I neglected to fill in 2 windows on the guards doors on each side which is now also rectified.

It is slow and at times tedious BUT will be worth the effort in the long run.
The chassis have also been started. I weighed up the pros and cons and have decided to do it the following way. I have cut out all the stuff between the chassis leaving just the trusses and inserting a replacement piece of styrenne. I have made up the battery boxes in styrenne and also brake tanks.
Started to fit some battery boxes which are going to be hit and miss in location accuracy, between what I can determine from Photo's and guesswork.
Given the time it is taking I decided against doing new trusses in brass angle and opted to keep the Hornby ones which are square.
Hopefully, with the forgetfulness sorted I will get these finished sooner rather than later and back onto the main layout!
