A bit more work done.

I have been wanting a first come hell or high water and the drawings for them are not readily around. So after literally spending 1/2 day going through mags that I don't have indexes for, I am sitting in front of the TV just flicking through a A4 lever Arch folder and what do I find at the back of the folder...........a drawing for a 54' A 18 first  which was a conversion from the articulated set done about 1936. Judging by the looks of it someone has been kind enough to send me a copy long ago. Likely that I have asked, and been sent a hard copy, so my thanks to whoever it was. Anyway here 'tis: This was made from just a Composite, cut up a little bit. All good fun!

Overdue Update and coach conversions.

Been a while! I've not done a lot more to the layout BUT I have started to wire it and also use slide switches to control the points through a combination of both WIT (wire in tube) and also using wire and cranks under the layout. In the meantime I have actually started to do some modelling again......kitbashing, same dif! I have been converting some of the old Hornby D95 Brake thirds into D88,D118 and the last into a E128 Brake Composite. These are NOT hard conversions and can be done in a day each. I have also converted the same series composite that was available and still is second hand into a C54 All Third. Of note is that I have used the first class compartments in the E128 conversion. I haven't written a step by step but the pics should tell you the story of where I have added what. another thing of note is that when doing these conversions, you need to align the front of the vehicle pieces as best you can and NOT rely on the flat backs as the thickness of th...
